Made popular by the Beach Boys song “Surfin’ USA,” Pacific Palisades is a small, community of about 25,000 residents, nestled between the Santa Monica Bay and the Santa Monica Mountains, near Malibu, Santa Monica and Brentwood. Its proximity to these natural wonders earns Pacific Palisades the title, “Where the Mountains Meet the Sea.” Pacific Palisades contains a combination of large, palatial homes, and smaller, older houses, as well as condominiums and apartments. Parks and hiking trails can be found throughout Pacific Palisades, including the Will Rogers State Historic Park and Polo Club.

Pacific Palisades is made up of several neighborhoods; the Alphabet Streets or North Village, The Village, Palisades Bluffs, Huntington Palisades, Rustic Canyon, Palisades Highlands, The Riviera, Marques Knolls and Castellammare, where the Getty Villa is located. Other famous Pacific Palisades buildings are the Eames House, Villa Aurora, and the Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine, which contains the Mahatma Gandhi World Peace Memorial.
