WESTSIDE TRAFFIC ALERT

President Barack Obama’s visit to Los Angeles on the afternoon of Thursday, April 21, could cause heavier-than-usual traffic at and around UCLA, the campus announced. The president will be attending an event at the Sony studio in Culver City in mid-afternoon, followed by a hosted dinner. Obama then is expected to travel to a Tavern on San Vicente Boulevard in Brentwood for TWO additional $38,000-per-person fundraising dinners. Exact times and routes have not been released, but officials have warned that the traffic impacts could extend from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Real-Time freeway conditions are available at Sigalert.com. City of Los Angeles surface street conditions are available at www.trafficinfo.lacity.org.

There is a traffic bulletin of freeway and road closures in LA westside on Thursday, 4/21/11. The 405 South, I-10, Culver City, Santa Monica, Westwood, and Brentwood areas are affected.
